Serving Those Who Have Served
In Lake County, Indiana, approximately 14,646 veterans, military service members, and their families are living with one or more major problems of housing quality, over-crowding, or are cost-burdened. According to the Housing Assistance Council (HAC), cost-burdened families pay over 30 percent of their income toward rent or mortgage. As you can imagine, using half of your income to pay your rent or mortgage is an enormous strain on any budget and is unsustainable.
Your sponsorship helps to support the Honor Build initiative by calling attention to the housing crisis and its impact on our veteran community while supporting the construction of new Habitat homes. Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana believes everyone deserves a safe, affordable, decent home. Your support will impact lives for generations. All proceeds go towards the purchase of construction materials.
